Acceptance

By downloading or using Sanctum (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

What Sanctum is

Sanctum is a local, on-device vault that encrypts photos, videos, and notes you choose to store in it, and provides privacy tools such as a private camera, private browser, decoy vault, and break-in alerts. Sanctum has no server component; all content remains on your device.

Your responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the content you store in the App and for complying with applicable laws. You must not use the App to store or conceal unlawful material.

You are responsible for remembering your passcode. Sanctum is built so that content cannot be recovered without it — there is no password reset, no recovery email, and no way for us to unlock your vault. Losing your passcode means losing access to your content.

You are responsible for maintaining device backups. Deleting the App deletes your encrypted vault from the device.

Break-in capture

The optional Break-In Alerts feature photographs whoever enters an incorrect passcode, using the front camera, and stores that photo encrypted on your device. You are responsible for ensuring your use of this feature complies with local laws regarding photography and consent.

No warranty

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. While Sanctum uses industry-standard encryption (AES-256-GCM), no security measure is absolute, and we do not warrant that the App is invulnerable to every attack, forensic technique, or future vulnerability.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Marcin AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including loss of data, loss of content due to a forgotten passcode, device loss, or deletion of the App.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
