Terms of Use
Dark Browser: Night Mode · MT Solutions, LLC · Effective October 26, 2026
The rules for using Dark Browser, written to be read. What the app does, how Pro works, and what we can and can't promise are all below.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and MT Solutions, LLC ("we", "us") for your use of Dark Browser: Night Mode, its Safari extensions and its website ("Dark Browser" or "the app"). By downloading or using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Dark Browser is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add details specific to Dark Browser. If anything here conflicts with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA controls.
2. What Dark Browser does
Dark Browser is a Safari extension and companion app that restyles websites with dark themes and comfort controls. It changes how pages look on your device only. It does not change the websites themselves, and you remain responsible for following the terms of the websites you visit.
Dark Browser Pro also blocks most ads in Safari, with a second Safari extension called a content blocker. It works in Safari only, not in other apps or browsers. No ad list catches every ad, and some websites may look or work differently with ads blocked. You can turn content blockers off for one website from Safari's page menu, or turn ad blocking off everywhere with the Block ads switch in the app.
Websites vary a lot, so we can't promise that every page will look perfect. You can turn Dark Browser off for any website, and report a website that looks wrong from the app or from the Safari popup.
3. License to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Dark Browser on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the Standard EULA and Apple's App Store rules. You may not copy, resell, rent or redistribute the app, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows. The app, its design and its code belong to us or our licensors.
4. Free features and Dark Browser Pro
The free version includes dark mode for every website with On, Auto and Off, the Midnight theme and site rules. Dark Browser Pro adds ad blocking in Safari, the Pure Black, Dusk and Ember themes, warmth, extra dim, gentle images and the bedtime schedule.
Dark Browser Pro is an auto-renewing subscription with two plans: $24.99 per year, or $4.99 per month (US prices). Both plans include a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Prices in other countries may differ and are shown in the app before you confirm.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase or, if you start with a free trial, when the trial ends. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
To cancel, go to your Apple Account settings (Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions) at least 24 hours before renewal. To avoid being charged after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Canceling stops future renewals, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
Apple handles all payments and refunds. To ask for a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com. We use RevenueCat to confirm your subscription status and unlock Pro. To use Pro on another iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account, tap Restore purchases in the app's Settings. If we ever change subscription prices, Apple will notify you as its rules require.
5. Comfort, not medical care
Dark Browser is a comfort tool for reading at night. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and the tips in the app are not medical advice. If your eyes bother you often, check with an eye doctor.
6. Open source and credits
The dark theme engine is Dark Reader, © Dark Reader Ltd, used under the MIT License. The license text ships inside the app.
The ad list in Dark Browser Pro is adapted from EasyList, by the EasyList authors, used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license. We converted it to Safari's content blocker format, limited it to ads loaded inside a page, allowed the ad code some video players need before they start a video, and added rules that leave checkout, payment, sign-in and account pages alone. Our adapted list is shared under the same license, and its license notice ships inside the app.
7. Changes to the app
We may update, change or remove features over time, including themes, comfort controls, the ad list and what the free version includes. If a change removes something you paid for during an active subscription period, you can cancel as described above.
8. Disclaimers
Dark Browser is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every website will look right with it, or that ad blocking will catch every ad. Safari, iOS and the websites you visit also affect how the app works.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, MT Solutions, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use Dark Browser. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Dark Browser in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.
10. Termination
You can stop using Dark Browser at any time by deleting it. Your license ends automatically if you break these terms. Sections 5, 8, 9 and 11 continue to apply after that.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the place you live.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always posted on this page with its effective date, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms. This version is effective October 26, 2026.
